Elo TouchSystems Unveils Its New 17"
Touchcomputer at ICE in London, Jan 22-24

By turning our recently launched 1729L 17" integrated multifunction touchmonitor into a fully-functioning, fanless, all-in-one touchcomputer, the 17A2 not only retains both the compact footprint of the 1729L and the comprehensive range of options it provides, but also adds a host of new features to help its customers gain an even firmer foothold in the point-of-service marketplace. Applications for the new 17A2 all-in-one touchcomputer include loyalty systems, kiosk information systems, casino management, POS systems and Internet access points such as those for Web surfing and hotel reservations.

The 17A2 not only includes all of the field replaceable and field serviceable options found on the 1729L - three-track magnetic stripe reader (MSR) for credit, ID and loyalty card transactions; customer-facing display to verify those transactions; biometric fingerprint recognition for increased security; 3 watt speaker bar with optional barcode scanner; and DVD drive support - but we have also added cash drawer port, power USB port and VGA out port. Plus, the 17A2 all-in-one touchcomputer is compatible with all of Microsoft's major operating systems such as Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Embedded.

The 15A1 15" LCD all-in-one touchcomputer expands our high profile family of reliable, easy-to-integrate multifunction touch solutions that can meet the requirements of any systems integrator, OEM or value-added reseller. Retail-rugged, the 15A1 features a spill-resistant sealing, a stable tilt base that is removable or reversible for wall mounting, a VESA mounting option, cables hidden from user view, and side controls with lockout for public use. Touch options include a choice of AccuTouch five-wire resistive, IntelliTouch surface wave or CarrollTouch Infrared. Additional options include a three-track magnetic stripe reader (MSR) and rear-facing customer display. Operating system options support Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 and Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point-of-Sale (WEPOS).

The silent, fanless design of the 15A1 and its compact integrated peripherals, make this touchcomputer an ideal choice for Point-of-Sale, kiosks and Point-of-Interest applications.

Announcing the Field Installable MSR Peripheral for the 1515L Touchmonitor

Announcing the Field Installable MSR Peripheral for the 1515L Touchmonitor

The 1515L 15” LCD desktop touchmonitor is an attractive solution for POS applications. A field installable magnetic stripe reader (MSR) can now be ordered and easily integrated into the 1515L’s compact design. Available in both gray and beige versions, the MSR is seamlessly incorporated into the monitor housing and is designed to flow with the elegant styling of the touchmonitor enclosure. The optional MSR is programmable to work in either of two modes: Keyboard Emulation (KBE) or Human Interface Device (HID). The desired mode (KBE or HID) is determined by the software that runs the user’s application.

Surface Capacitive Technology Added to Rear-mount Touchmonitors

Surface Capacitive Technology Added to Rear-mount Touchmonitors

The already versatile family of 1739L and 1939L rear-mount touchmonitors is now available with Elo surface capacitive touch technology.

Surface capacitive technology offers fast, sensitive touch response with excellent dragging performance, making it an ideal technology in many gaming, amusement, and point-of-sale self-checkout applications.   The transparent protective coating makes the screen sensor resistant to scratches and abrasions.  Elo surface capacitive touch technology leverage patented narrow ‘Z-Border’ electrode pattern to achieve outstanding linearity, and is compatible with industry standard protocols including Elo SmartSet protocol.

In addition to surface capacitive technology, Elo’s rear-mount touchmonitors can also be ordered with a wide array of touch technologies including: AccuTouch, Acoustic Pulse Recognition (APR), CarrollTouch, IntelliTouch, and SecureTouch.

New Drivers Available

The unified USB driver for Linux Kernel 2.6 (GCC version 4.1.2. or later) is a manual installer for recent distributions that are not supported in Elo's Linux Package Manager.
