Bezel and Gasket Sealing Options
No Dust Seal
Applications that do not require
a seal between the touchscreen and bezel include industrial clean room
environments and many office environments.
Standard Dust Seal
A standard dust seal provides a
degree of protection against circulating dust. It satisfies most
requirements for indoor applications such as retail, office, light
industrial, hospitality, and gaming. Typically simple to engineer and
design, the standard dust seal is the least expensive sealing option.
NEMA 12
The NEMA 12 seal suits more
demanding industrial applications, and generally requires more engineering
than the standard dust seal. Primarily intended for indoor use, this seal
provides a degree of protection against circulating dust, falling dirt,
and dripping liquids. A NEMA 12 seal is typically more expensive than the
standard dust seal.
NEMA 4/IP65
The NEMA 4 seal is an industrial
seal intended for indoor and outdoor use, primarily for protection against
windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water, and damage
from external ice formation. This seal is also compatible with European
IP65 requirements. A NEMA 4 seal is usually heavily engineered and
typically the most expensive sealing option.
